Privacy Policy

PreBrief is a local-first app. We don't run a server. We don't collect data. The short answer to most privacy questions is "we never see it."

What stays on your device

Everything you create or configure in PreBrief — trips, checklist completion state, your passport country, notification preferences — lives in SwiftData on your device. iCloud syncs the same records across your own devices via Apple's private database. We have no access to that data; only you do.

What leaves your device, and where it goes

• Flight number and date → AeroDataBox via RapidAPI, only when you tap "Look up". Used to fetch the schedule, aircraft, and route. AeroDataBox's terms apply to that request. We send no other identifying information.
• Destination airport coordinates → Apple WeatherKit, when the destination briefing loads (Plus only). Used to fetch the arrival-day forecast. Apple's privacy practices for WeatherKit apply.

Nothing else leaves your device. PreBrief contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no crash reporting beacons.

What we do NOT collect

• No name, email, or account — there's no sign-up
• No location tracking
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No advertising identifiers
• No payment data — Apple handles subscription billing entirely

Subscriptions

PreBrief Plus is purchased through Apple's StoreKit. Apple is the merchant of record. PreBrief sees only whether your current Apple ID has an active entitlement — yes or no, plus the renewal date. We don't see your card, your name, or your purchase history.

Notifications

Time-sensitive notifications are scheduled locally on your device with the system. They never travel through any server. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings → PreBrief.

Children

PreBrief is rated 4+ but it is designed for adult travellers booking their own flights. We do not knowingly collect data from children, because we do not collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the policy materially changes, the app's "What's New" notes will say so on the next update. The current version is always at this URL.
