Frequently asked

I added a flight number and got "not found".
PreBrief looks flights up via AeroDataBox. Coverage is excellent for scheduled commercial service but charters and ferry flights aren't always there. Use "Add manually instead" on the lookup screen — every checklist feature works the same once a trip exists.
The destination briefing card says "Unlock with Plus".
Destination briefing (currency, plug type, eSIM, arrival weather, visa hints) is part of PreBrief Plus. Settings → Subscription → Upgrade to Plus to unlock.
I'm on free and tried to add a second trip.
The free tier caps at one active trip — that's a trip whose departure is in the future. Once a trip is in the past, the slot frees up. To run more than one at a time, upgrade to Plus.
I made a typo in my flight number — can I fix it?
Swipe the trip card left to delete it (you'll be asked to confirm), then add the trip again with the right number. Each lookup uses one of your three lifetime free AeroDataBox calls; once they're gone, manual entry is always available.
How do I clear an old trip after I've flown it?
Swipe the trip card right and choose Archive. Archived trips disappear from the main list but stay in the database. (Swipe-right is only available on trips whose departure is in the past.)
How many flight lookups do I get on free?
Three lifetime lookups against AeroDataBox. The current count is shown in Settings → Subscription and in the AddTrip footer. After they're spent, the lookup button disables and the AddTrip sheet pivots to the manual-entry form — every other feature stays free. PreBrief Plus removes the cap.
My notifications aren't firing.
Settings → Notifications inside PreBrief shows the current authorization state. If it says "Denied", tap "Open Settings" to flip it back on in iOS. If notifications are allowed but specific cards never fire, check that the trip's departure date is correct — every alert is computed off the scheduled departure time.
How do I mark a checklist item complete?
Tap the circle next to the title in the trip view, or use "Mark complete" directly from the notification — no app launch required.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription, or go to your Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the Apple ID that bought the subscription, then open PreBrief → Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Trips and preferences sync only across your own devices via your iCloud private database. PreBrief has no server, no analytics, no advertising. Flight number and date go to AeroDataBox for the schedule lookup; destination coordinates go to Apple WeatherKit for the forecast — nothing else leaves your device.
How do I delete a trip?
Long-press the trip card on the Trips tab and choose Delete. The cascade also clears any pending notifications.
I'd like a rule the app doesn't have yet.
Email a description of the route or aircraft to NAV-INT-LLC@pm.me. The operator (an active line captain) reviews additions personally.
