Privacy Policy
The short version. Log11 is a logbook that lives on your devices and in your own iCloud account. There is no Log11 account and no Log11 server. The Developer cannot see your flights, your licence details, your documents, your signature, your roster or your airline password. The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
1. Who runs Log11
- Developer / data controller: Capt. Navneet Reddy (NAV-INT LLC)
- Contact: NAV-INT-LLC@pm.me
Log11 does not operate any server of its own. Your iCloud account is operated by Apple. If you use roster import, your airline's crew portal is operated by your airline.
2. What Log11 stores, and where
2.1 On your device
- Your logbook: flights, simulator sessions, duty periods, aircraft, airports and crew names you enter or import.
- Your pilot profile: name, licence title and number, licensing authority, role, medical class and examination date, dates of recurrent checks, and — only if you enter it — your date of birth, which is used solely to calculate age-dependent medical validity.
- Signatures: your own handwritten signature, and any instructor signatures captured on your device, stored as pen strokes with the entries they certify, together with the signer's name, certificate number, the date and the kind of device used.
- Roster-portal credentials (only if you use roster import): your crew ID and password, kept in the device Keychain with the "this device only" protection class. They are not included in iCloud sync, in backups made by Log11, or in iCloud Keychain.
- Documents you add: licences, medical certificates, passports, visas, crew IDs, airport passes and the like, with their numbers, dates, notes and any photos of them you take or choose. Photos are re-encoded on the device without location or camera details.
- A summary for widgets and Apple Watch: your next flight, your currency and your flight and duty limits, kept on the device where Log11's widgets can read it, and sent from your iPhone directly to your own Apple Watch if you have one.
- A Spotlight index of your entries, kept by the device so that you can search for them. Settings → Show entries in Spotlight turns it off and removes it.
- Preferences and the cached state of your subscription.
This data is protected by the device's own encryption (Data Protection) whenever the device is locked.
2.2 In your iCloud account
- Sync. If you are signed in to iCloud, your logbook, profile and documents are synchronised between your own devices through the private database of your iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). Only you can read that database. The Developer has no access to its contents. Licence, certificate and document numbers, date of birth and signature strokes are additionally stored in CloudKit's encrypted fields.
- Backups. When you create a backup, Log11 writes a
.zipfile to the Log11 folder in your iCloud Drive (or to the app's folder on the device if iCloud Drive is unavailable). The file is yours: you can see it in the Files app, copy it or delete it. If you turn on the weekly spreadsheet copy, Log11 also writes your logbook as CSV and Excel files to Log11 › Spreadsheet in your iCloud Drive.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
2.3 Your airline's crew portal (roster import, optional)
If you choose to import your roster, Log11 signs in to your airline's crew portal from your device, using the credentials you enter, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and reads your own roster and flown-sector report. The credentials and the downloaded data go only between your device and that portal. Nothing is relayed through, copied to or visible to the Developer. If you turn on Keep my roster current, Log11 signs in the same way about once a day, in the background, and tells you on the device when your roster changes. Your use of the portal remains subject to your airline's own terms and privacy notice.
2.4 Calendar (optional)
If you ask Log11 to find flights in your calendar, it requests access to your calendars and reads events on the device to recognise flights. Calendar data is not uploaded anywhere, and Log11 never writes to your calendar. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
2.5 Files you import or export
Logbook files you choose to import (CSV or PDF) and roster files (PDF, screenshots and calendar files) are read on the device. PDFs, spreadsheets, reports, Career Passport images and backups you export are saved or shared only where you choose.
2.6 Photos, the camera, questions and Siri (optional)
When you scan block and flight times or read a roster from a picture, Log11 reads the photo you take or choose on the device, with Apple's text recognition and, where your device has Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model. That photo is not kept. Log11 sees only the photos you take or pick for it, never the rest of your photo library.
A question you ask your logbook is read on the device in the same way and answered from your own entries; it is not stored. If you ask through Siri or Shortcuts, Siri handles the request under Apple's own privacy terms and Log11 answers it on the device.
2.7 Notifications (optional)
Reminders before a document expires and alerts about roster changes are scheduled on the device. They do not pass through any Developer server.
3. What Log11 does not collect
- No analytics, telemetry or usage tracking.
- No advertising, no advertising identifiers and no third-party SDKs.
- No account, email address or phone number.
- No location tracking. Airports are taken from what you log, not from where your device is.
- No access to contacts, microphone or health data, and none to your photo library: Log11 sees only a photo you take or pick for it (2.6).
- No copy of your logbook, signature, credentials or roster on any Developer-operated system — there is none.
In App Store terms, Log11's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
4. Subscriptions and payments
Log11 offers an optional Log11 Pro auto-renewable subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Log11 receives only your entitlement status from Apple's StoreKit on your device — whether Pro is active and until when. The Developer never receives your payment details, card number, name or Apple Account. You can manage or cancel the subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
5. Your choices and rights
Because your data stays with you, you control it directly:
- Edit or delete entries in the app at any time.
- Export your whole logbook at any time: as a backup file (Settings → Sync and backup), or as a PDF, an Excel workbook or a CSV file (Logbook → Export logbook).
- Erase everything: Settings → Erase all Log11 data. This deletes your logbook, profile and documents from the device and, if iCloud sync is on, from iCloud and your other devices, and removes any saved airline sign-in. Log11 offers to write a backup first.
- Remove the app as well: on an iPhone or iPad, delete the app. On a Mac, delete the app and then the Log11 folder in
~/Library/Containers. - Remove synced data from iCloud without the app: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Log11 → Delete Data.
- Remove backups: delete the files from the Log11 folder in iCloud Drive.
- Remove roster credentials: open the airline in Log11's Import screen and choose Sign out.
- Turn off sync: Settings → your name → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Log11.
If you live in the EU, the UK or another jurisdiction with data-protection rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), you can exercise them directly with the controls above, since the Developer holds none of your data. If you have a question or believe the Developer holds something about you, write to the contact address below.
6. Data retention
- On-device data is kept until you erase it or remove the app as described above.
- iCloud data and backup files are kept in your iCloud account until you delete them.
- Apple's subscription records are kept by Apple under Apple's own policies.
- Support email you send is kept only as long as needed to answer you.
7. Children
Log11 is rated 4+ but is intended for pilots and student pilots. The Developer does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
8. International transfers
Apple operates iCloud globally and may store your iCloud data in data centres outside your country, depending on your iCloud region. The Developer makes no transfers of your data, because it holds none.
9. Security
- Data on the device is encrypted at rest by the operating system.
- Roster credentials are held in the Keychain, restricted to the device they were entered on.
- Connections to iCloud and to airline portals use HTTPS.
- Each signature is bound to the content it certifies: if a signed entry is later changed, the signature is shown as void on screen and is not printed.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of data changes, this page will be updated before the change is released and the effective date above will change.
11. Disclaimer
Log11 is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by any aviation authority, airline, crew-portal vendor or Apple. Names of authorities, airlines and products are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe what the app works with.
Recency, validity and flight-time-limit figures shown in Log11 are provided to help you keep track. They are not legal advice and do not replace the applicable regulations, your operator's approved scheme or your own responsibility as a licence holder to keep an accurate record.
