The fastest way to get help is to email the address above with:
- The Log11 version and build, shown in Settings → About.
- Your device and its iOS, iPadOS or macOS version.
- What you did, what you expected and what happened instead.
- A screenshot if it helps. Please cover anything you would rather not share — your logbook never needs to be sent in full.
Most replies arrive within 2–3 business days.
Your logbook
Is my logbook backed up?
In two independent ways. If you are signed in to iCloud, Log11 keeps your logbook in sync across your devices. Separately, Settings → Sync and backup → Back up now writes a dated .zip file to the Log11 folder in your iCloud Drive, which you can copy anywhere. A backup does not depend on sync, on a subscription or on Log11 itself: inside it is a plain JSON file.
How do I restore a backup?
Settings → Sync and backup, then pick one of the listed backups or choose Restore from a file…. Log11 shows what the backup contains before anything changes. Merge adds and updates entries without deleting any; Replace makes the logbook match the backup exactly.
My flights are not appearing on my other device
- Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud is on for Log11 (Settings → your name → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud).
- Open Log11 on both devices with a network connection. The sync status is shown in Settings → Sync and backup.
- iCloud decides when to deliver changes; a few minutes' delay is normal, especially for a large first sync.
Why can't I edit or delete an entry?
An entry that carries a signature is locked, so that what was signed cannot change unnoticed. Open the entry and choose Void signature to edit…. The signature is then removed and the entry needs signing again.
How do I move my existing logbook into Log11?
Import → Move from another logbook. Choose the app you use now — LogTen, CrewLounge PILOTLOG (mccPILOTLOG), ForeFlight or MyFlightbook — for the steps to export from it, then choose the exported file. Its columns are recognised for you. For any other app or a spreadsheet, choose Another app or a spreadsheet: a CSV, a tab-separated text file or a PDF with selectable text is read by its column headings, and you can say which column is which if a heading is unfamiliar. Log11 then shows a preview with anything it could not read, and nothing is added until you confirm. Entries already in your logbook are recognised and left alone, so importing the same file twice adds nothing twice. Signatures, photos and documents stay in the other app; keep your export as a record of them.
If you fly for an airline in the list, Import → your airline → Entire logbook brings in every sector your airline's own record holds, which is usually quicker than a file.
Log11 says my logbook could not be opened
Choose Try Again first — this can happen once after an update, or if the device had just restarted. If it persists, Start a new logbook from one of the listed backups. The file that could not be read is moved to a folder named "Damaged", not deleted, and if iCloud sync is on your flights download again by themselves. Email support if you would like help recovering the original file.
Regulations, recency and limits
The recency or limit figures do not match my operator's
Log11 applies the general rules of the authority selected in Settings → Regulatory profile, calculated from what is in your logbook. It cannot know your operator's approved scheme, exemptions, standby or rest. Check the entries for the period first, then treat your operator's system and the regulation itself as authoritative. If you believe a rule is encoded incorrectly, please email the rule, the figure Log11 shows and the regulation reference — corrections are a priority.
Will my authority accept an electronic logbook or signature?
That depends on your authority, your operator and what the record is for. Log11 prints in the layouts authorities publish and shows when a signed entry has been altered, but acceptance is the authority's decision. Ask before relying on it for a licence application or a check.
Roster and calendar import
My airline is not in the list
Log11 lists an airline only once a connection to its crew portal has been built and verified with a real roster. You can try the import with Log11 Demo Airline, which needs no sign-in and returns a sample roster, and you can always bring flights in from a file or your calendar. To ask for an airline, email support with its name.
I tried the demo airline. How do I remove its flights?
Import → Remove sample flights. The demo airline's flights are invented; they count towards your totals until you remove them.
Where does my airline password go?
Only to your airline's own crew portal, directly from your device. It is stored in the device Keychain, on that device only — never in iCloud, in a backup or on any Log11 system. To remove it, open the airline in Import and choose Sign out.
How much does a roster import bring in?
You choose. Entire logbook reads every sector in your airline's own pilot logbook report, back to your first flight with them, plus the published roster; it is offered first until it has been imported once, and can take a minute or two for a long career. Date range reads only the dates you pick, which is all a regular refresh needs. Importing again never duplicates a flight: a planned sector is replaced by its flown record, and one that has been taken off your roster is removed.
How is time as a relief captain logged?
On an augmented sector commanded by another captain, an airline's record credits a relief captain's share of the flight as co-pilot time. From your first sector in command, Log11 logs that share as PIC time instead; before that, co-pilot time stays co-pilot time. If your authority or operator requires it logged as co-pilot time, turn off Relief captain time as PIC when you import. Check what your own authority requires: the entry can always be edited.
Imported flights look wrong
Log11 imports what your airline's portal reports. Compare with the portal in a browser first. If the portal is right and Log11 is wrong, email support with the date and sector (no password, please).
Log11 Pro
What is free and what is Pro?
Logging, your logbook and totals, recency, iCloud sync, backup and restore, importing a logbook file, and a PDF export in the general ICAO layout are free. Log11 Pro adds airline roster import, calendar import, flight- and duty-limit tracking, and PDF exports in authority layouts. One subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.
I subscribed but Pro is not unlocked
Settings → Log11 Pro → Restore purchases. Make sure the device uses the same Apple Account that bought the subscription.
How do I cancel, or get a refund?
Cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Log11 Pro. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple processes all billing; the Developer cannot cancel or refund on your behalf.
What happens to my logbook if I stop subscribing?
Nothing. Every entry stays, and you can still view, edit, sync, back up, restore and export in the general layout.
Deleting your data
- Everything, in one step: Settings → Erase all Log11 data. It removes your logbook and profile from the device and, if iCloud sync is on, from iCloud and your other devices, along with any saved airline sign-in. You are offered a backup first.
- Backups: these are your own files and are not erased. Delete them from the Log11 folder in iCloud Drive.
- One airline's saved sign-in only: Import → the airline → Sign out.
- The app itself: delete it as usual. On a Mac, also delete the Log11 folder in
~/Library/Containers. - Subscription: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
There is no Log11 account to close and no data held by the Developer to request. See the Privacy Policy.
